Great Northern Pike Gathering
Posted: May 3, 2010
The Great Northern Pike gathering was a success again this year thanks to Joe Caruso and other fellow Alumni. Our hats go off to Brother Jim Hughes who at this meeting was awarded a well earned and highly deserved Ozzie Award for his SIX years of service collecting, videoing, editing, producing and distributing great videos and collections of pictures of our memories together. Thanks for all you have done Jim! We had 24 guys show up this weekend - great attendance, especially when you consider that this did not mark a major anniversary/milestone in our ZS history! That speaks volumes about the strength of the bonds that tie us together and everyone's desire to reunite and celebrate in friendship, love and truth. -Carlos Cueto

Fellow Brother,

In the past few weeks Zeta Sigma has done a lot. The 2010 Alumni Weekend went well with many brothers and alumni in attendance. We thank all those that attended and wish to see them next year. The date for next years alumni weekend is set for April 1st-3rd. The Zeta Sigma Alumni Association has been re-charted thanks to the Alumni Association President Jesse Gallagher. For more information or if you would like to help out with the Alumni Association please contact him at alumni@zspikes.com.

The brothers also participated in Florida Techs Relay for Life on March 26th. There they assisted in Florida Techs effort in raising over $22,000 for the America Cancer Society. Yesterday they also participated in Relay for Life Palm Bay. The event was hosted at the Bayside High School; here Zeta Sigma joined the other 450 participants in raising over $59,000. The week before the Relay for Life Palm Bay, Zeta Sigma hosted the first annual Pikes Peak 5K run. The event, hosted at Wickham Park, brought 150 runners and allowed the chapter to donate over $2,700 to the America Cancer Society.

The Zeta Sigma Chapter would like to congratulate Kevin Menard, Gamma Beta 97, for the Broken Barrel Taverns 1 year anniversary. Brother Menard has always been a strong supporter and we are glad that his business is running so well. We hope to see him again for next years 2 year anniversary.

For more info you can go to www.zspikes.com or contact me directly. We wish you a Happy New Year and hope to see you at next semesters alumni events.

Alumni vs. Active Series
Posted: February 16, 2010
Zeta Sigma sports are in full swing this spring with teams in Softball (no pun intended), Frisbee, and Volleyball, as well as Greek Week just two weeks away. Alumni sports are also in the mix right now with an Alumnus verses Actives Football game last month which sadly saw the Alumni lose to the Actives 18-6. The next battle of old versus young will be a Frisbee game on March 21st from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Southgate Field followed by the end of the Alumni verses Actives season with a softball game during Alumni weekend April 2nd - 4th. We hope you all can attend!

Alumni Events 2010

Fellow Brother,

Another year has gone by and although some brothers have passed on we look to bring back those old memories at this years Alumni events. We all remember those good and bad times that we had at the Pike House, those unforgettable memories that we had during pledging, the godlike parties, and of course the unbreakable friendships.

As an Alumnus you took the charge to continue to support the chapter both internally and externally. Your continued support has helped the chapter succeed in remaining the top chapter on campus. This year we will host many events to in the hopes of strengthening those oaths again.

Alumni Weekend
Posted: December 2, 2008
This year marks a historic time for the Zeta Sigma Chapter here at Florida Institute of Technology. Zeta Sigma was founded in 1968 exactly 100 years after the founding of Pi Kappa Alpha at the University of Virginia. This year, 2008, marks 40 years of Pi Kappa Alpha at Florida Institute of Technology. To remember our accomplishments throughout the years, our 40th Anniversary celebration took place this fall. Almost an entire week was dedicated to memories young and old. Hundreds of brothers from all around the country came to meet friends that they remembered and rekindle friendships with some they had not. The original members of Alpha Kappa Pi were able to meet the present day brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha and share stories of the times they spent with our fraternity. The brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha today are looking forward to another great 40 years at FIT and beyond.

Congratulations Joseph and Lindsey Lustig

Joseph Lustig a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity married Dr. Lindsey Mansueto, D.C. a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority on February 22, 2008. The couple's nuptials were exchanged at the American Orchid Society located in Delray Beach, Florida. In the orchid garden as the sun was setting a beautiful ceremony began, in which Joseph and Lindsey exchanged personal vows with one another. The reception was also in the garden where many Gamma Phi Beta Sorority women mingled with the fine gentleman of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. There was tons of dancing, fun and romance.

Joseph Lustig, a business major met Dr. Lindsey Mansueto, a pre-professional biology major, in Mr. Sawyer's Physics class during their sophomore year at Florida Institute of Technology. They mingled at Greek Life events and the rest is history.

The couple celebrated their six year anniversary before tying the proverbial knot this year. They were frequently seen holding hands while walking to class together during their time spent at Florida Institute of Technology. Both individuals were heavily involved with Greek Life. Joseph played an integral role in the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, while Dr. Lindsey Mansueto was the former president of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority in the year 2003.

Joseph and Lindsey are currently residing in Delray Beach, Florida. Joseph is working as a purchasing manager at CarMax in Boynton Beach, while Dr. Lindsey Mansueto, D.C. continued her professional training by completing Chiropractic College. She is currently practicing in Boca Raton, Fl at the Boca Pain Relief and Wellness Center.

Joseph Caruso Recieves Order Of West Range
Posted: September 5, 2006
Recently at the last International Convention held in Orlando one of Zeta Sigma's Alumni, Joseph Caruso('70), was inducted into the Order Of West Range. This is one of the highest honors to receive in the fraternity and consist of only 113 member out of the over 215,000 brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha.

The Order of West Range was founded in 1986 to recognize those alumnus members of Pi Kappa Alpha who have, faithfully and generously served and/or supported Pi Kappa Alpha and/or achieved significant accomplishment in their chosen field(s) of endeavor. Brother Caruso has gone on from Zeta Sigma to be the founder and principal of Omnifirst Capital Corporation. This private investment firm works mainly with commercial real estate, but also has other endeavors in fields such as communications, healthcare, and entertainment. Along with this already great achievement brother Caruso also is the co-founder and owner of Trenton Thunder ( AA affiliate with New York Yankees), and the Lakewood BlueClaws (A affiliate with Philadelphia Phillies).

Brother Caruso's award was one of many Zeta Sigma took home at the 2006 convention, other awards the chapter received were another Chapter Excellence Award, the Cornerstone Programming Award for finance, and one of 15 chapters to have 100% membership in the Phi Phi K A club. All this recognition for the chapter on the national level is a continuing reminder of Zeta Sigma's actives and alumnus members continued dedication to excellence.
